Feeling-Into

We can always apply Feeling-Into when a life situation triggers suffering in us. With it, we can use trigger situations in everyday life to transport the responsible unconscious contents into consciousness, to transform them, and to effect healing changes.

Preparation

The Golden Rule

When confronting fear-laden experiences, it is important not to fall into an intuitive defense, because with this behavior we confirm the danger emanating from the experience and reinforce the associated fears. Thereby, these can gain additional influence over our life. Therefore, for a safe and healing application of the method, it is indispensable—contrary to our intuition—to look at it and let everything happen to us during the entire process. For as long as it takes until we notice that nothing happens to us and the fears dissolve. Because this behavior is indispensable for the safety and productivity of the method, I call it The Golden Rule:

“Always look and let everything happen.”

Free Expression
Healing processes can only run if mental processes and the physical expressions connected with them can flow freely. Therefore, it is important that we let ourselves go in this regard.

This includes, for example, crying or screaming.

Psychosomatics

When mental processes express themselves physically, we speak of Psychosomatics. In our linguistic usage, there are many idioms that describe this connection. Here are a few examples, with the respective possible psychosomatic symptoms:

“It turns my stomach.”

(Stomach pains)

“I carry the weight of the world on my shoulders.”

(Back pains)

“My blood is boiling.”

(Hot flushes)

“It breaks my heart.”

(Heartache)

“That’s a real headache.”

(Headache)

Since mental themes are activated and resolved in the methods presented here, psychosomatic symptoms may occur in the first section of the healing process, which dissolve with the progression of healing. Because these have a mental cause and are harmless to our physical health, we can allow and accept them.

Feeling-Into: The Technique

If a life situation triggers suffering in us, we close our eyes and feel what we feel.

It is important not to judge or to think, but only to feel and to surrender ourselves unconditionally to our feelings. In doing so, existing feelings can intensify, new ones can be added, psychosomatic symptoms can set in, images and memories can emerge, or connections can become clear to us. It is important that we allow the experience as a whole. For this, it is necessary to completely give up control and surrender ourselves, and let what happens happen (The Golden Rule). Depending on what is involved, this can be very unpleasant, but the sooner we yield and allow everything, the faster the process can progress and healing changes can occur.

We do this until nothing new appears anymore and we feel at peace with everything.

Integration into Everyday Life

We can apply Feeling-Into anywhere we can safely close our eyes. For example:

- At home
- On a park bench
- In the car in a parking lot
- On public transport
- In a quiet spot at work

Optional: Working with a Sitter

This technique is designed so that we can apply it independently and as needed. However, for our first application, it can be advantageous to call in an experienced mentor who introduces us to the methodology and accompanies us. See the Services section for more details.
